iDye Poly is for synthetic fibers such as polyester and nylon.
It even works on some plastics—buttons, frisbee discs, 3D printed objects, dolls and more!
The dye comes in a dissolvable packet, so there are never any messy powders to handle: simply drop the packet in a pot of water, add your fabric and bring to the boil!
iDye Poly may also be used for sublimation printing techniques and to dye the polyester threads that are used to sew commercially manufactured garments.

Using iDye with Fabric Blends
For blended fabrics that contain both synthetic and natural fibers, use iDye for Natural Fabrics with the corresponding iDye Poly colour AT THE SAME TIME!
Or, for more interesting, two-tone, heather effects, try pairing two different colors.

Each packet comes with 14g of dye and 14ml of colour intensifier.
A single iDye packet will dye 2-3 lbs/1-1.3 kg of dry fabric, the more fabric dyed at once, the lighter the final shade will be and vice versa.

Not all synthetic fibres are created equal. Results may vary depending on the type of fabric, the temperature of dye bath and the duration.

Always test first. We can’t be held responsible for mistakes or accidents.

For best results:

  • Read entire instructions before starting .
  • For best results, and maximum colour intensity, use stove top method.
  • Use constant agitation for uniform colour.

NOTE: for lighter shades, use less dye.

Polyester is difficult to dye and requires high heat to achieve good colour; therefore, we only recommend dyeing polyester with the stove top method, it’s not suitable for use in a washing machine.

NOTE: Instructions are for achieving the most vibrant colour. For lighter shades, dissolve dye packet in small container with hot water. Add the appropriate amount of dissolved dye to the dye bath to achieve the desired shade. Keep in mind that colour will deepen the longer the fabric is in the dye bath.
