It's easier to screen print than many people realise, especially if you start out by making stencils. You don't need a lot more than a screen, a squeegee and some ink to go down the stencils route.
Luna Lotus wrote a great blog post on How to screen print using stencils that is well worth a read if you haven't already.
With both printing with stencils and the holiday season in mind, here are some screen printing gift ideas that won't break the bank and will offer up endless hours of creativity!
1. Hunt The Moon - Screen Printing Kit
Just add creativity! Seriously though, this is a great place to start. All kits include a screen, a squeegee and ink. You just need to choose the screen size, mesh count and whether you want just black & white ink or a 6 pack colour selection.
Know nothing about screen printing? A4 Screen, 43t mesh. You can't go wrong with that, it's suitable for most projects!
2. Speedball - Deluxe Screen Printing Kit
This kit packs a lot of bang for your buck and is a great starting point for anyone looking to properly get in to screen printing. There's inks for fabric, paper and card plus a screen on a hinged base and all the bits you'll need to get the screen prepared to print with your design.
Nicely boxed, shrink wrapped, a great present.
3. Jacquard - Screen Printing Kit
This is a great kit for anyone looking to print on other surfaces. The inks included in this kit are great for fabric, paper, card, plastic, metal, wood, vinyl, leather and the list goes on...
It includes the screen, a squeegee and photo emulsion too!
Got questions? Give us a call or drop us a message, we're more than happy to advise on what would be best. We've also extended returns through the holiday season for peace of mind!
